Obituary of Frank Ardus Kraft
Frank Ardus Kraft, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed away on Friday, July 1, 2005 at the age of 84 years.
Frank was born on October 24, 1920 in Salvador, SK. He learned his work ethics and strong family values from his parents on the family farm. In his younger years Frank had a special team of horses that he loved. He enjoyed gardening, especially his tomatoes. Frank also enjoyed curling and golf for many years. He was an active member of the St. Gerard’s Catholic Church as an Usher and Eucharistic Minister. Frank was proud to be involved with the Knights of Columbus for many years and held the positions of Grand Knight and Council Historian. He was also a fourth-degree Knight. In 1976, he was awarded the honour of Knight of the Year. Frank’s greatest pride and joy was his children and grandchildren who lovingly remember him. Frank was an adventurous person who came to Calgary in 1948. He had a lengthy career as a Journeyman Welder with Barber Machinery retiring in 1985. His volunteer service included Meals on Wheels, church activities and was a regular blood donor. He was also a member of the IOF.

Frank is lovingly remembered by his wife Anne of fifty-four years; his four daughters and son; Sharon (Brian) Sather, Carolyn (Bill) Sucha, Brian (AndrÚe) Kraft, Colette Kraft, Bernadette Mason; and Margo Kraft. His grandchildren; Dale and Mark Sather, David and Steven Sucha, Michael, Nicole and Kimberley Kraft and Ian and Breanne Mason. Sister and brothers, Annie Wiemer, Peter Kraft, Tony (Freda) Kraft, Ray (Lee) Kraft, sister-in-law Rose Kraft; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Frank was predeceased by his parents George and Amelia Kraft, his sisters Barbara Boser, Eleanor Brosinsky, Katherine Kraft, his brothers Paul and John Kraft, his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law John Boser, Ray Brosinsky, Ned Wiemer, Ursula Kraft, and Jean Kraft.
Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at St. Gerard’s Catholic Church (8944 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Sunday, July 3, 2005 at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Gerard’s Catholic Church (8944 Elbow Drive S.W.) today, Monday, July 4, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. with the Very Rev. Gregory Coupal, V.F., Presider. Graveside Service to follow at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens.
