Obituary of Elmer Anderst

Elmer Anderst, beloved husband of Tillie Anderst of Calgary, passed away after a lengthy illness on Monday, June 27, 2005 at the age of 83 years. Elmer was born on May 24, 1922 in Saskatchewan near Hilda, AB. He farmed in the Hilda area and operated a Hardware Store and John Deere Dealership. He married Tillie Enslen on September 13, 1946. Elmer and Tillie moved to Calgary in 1967 where Elmer worked as an AMA Driving Instructor. He was also employed with Agro Equipment and later in Real Estate until his retirement. Elmer was very active in Hilda Baptist Church and Brentview Baptist Church. Besides his loving wife Tillie, Elmer is also survived by a daughter and son-in-law Betty and Brian Kirschenman of Hilda, AB; son and daughter-in-law Tom and Lori Anderst of Ottawa, ON; four grandchildren Andy Kirschenman, Courtney, Caleb and Christiana Anderst. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law Alice and Ed Gerwin of Rimby; brother John Anderst of Medicine Hat, AB; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Elmer was predeceased by an infant daughter; his parents Elizabeth and Peter Anderst; and a brother Albert Anderst. Funeral Services will be held at Brentview Baptist Church (3512 Charleswood Drive N.W.) on Wednesday, June 29, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. David Spate and Rev. Doug Peebles, Presiders.
