Obituary of William Frederick Gibbs

Bill died peacefully in his sleep at the Rockyview Hospital on June 20, 2005, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Regina, SK, Bill served two years in the Royal Canadian Navy before graduating in 1947 with a degree in civil engineering. He enjoyed his work with the federal government, PFRA branch, for thirty years. Bill was an avid hiker, skier, and golfer and an active member of the Second Sixties. He and June loved to travel and enjoyed many wonderful trips together. He will be remembered by his wife of fifty-five years, June, and their children, Ann Gibbs, Ken Gibbs (Patti), Joan Tetrault (David), and Janet Brunet (Dan). He was the proud grandfather to Mark and Kathryn Bell, Christie, Lisa, and Jamie Gibbs, Christopher and Suzanne Tetrault, and Tara and Danielle Brunet. At Bill’s request, there will only be a private family service. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Alberta Lung Association, P.O.
