Obituary of Doris Johnson

Doris Johnson passed away peacefully in Calgary Alberta on Saturday, June 18, 2005. For ninety years she lived, she laughed, she loved; and she was loved by all who knew her , but especially by her husband, Bob Johnson, who predeceased her in 1987; her son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Muriel Johnson; her grandchildren, Anne Kirker (Scott) and Dave Johnson (Shelley): and by her beloved great-grandchildren, Katie, Ryan, Zach, and Zoe. Doris was like a second mother to nieces Barbara, Jacqueline and Angela who lived near to her in England and she always enjoyed visits from close family who lived farther a field. Her love for them was not diminished by the distance between them. At eighty-five she took the bold step of immigrating to Calgary to spend her remaining years with her immediate family. She became known as the English Rose by her dear friends and bridge companions at Royal Park and was nicknamed Princess by the Staff at Sarcee Nursing Home, all of whom are to be thanked for the tender care she received during the last year of her long life. Special thanks as well to Dr. Kim Wilmot for his care and support. A Family Service will be held. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. In living memory of Doris Johnson, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES Park Memorial Chapel, 5008 ELBOW DRIVE S.W. Telephone: (403) 243-8200.
