Obituary of de Silva

Ilse de Silva, born in Berlin in 1924, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, June 13, 2005 at the age of 80 years. Ilse’s optimism, sense of humor and energetic spark affected all around her. She loved Calgary and her life here among family and the many loyal friends that she had made. She often expressed her complete happiness with being able to enjoy the simplest pleasures and passed that enthusiasm on to us. We will all miss her, but will also cherish the time we were able to spend together. She is survived by her loving sons, Lal (Kathleen) and Roy; and dear granddaughters, Ava and Carmen upon whom she doted. She was predeceased by her husband Walter de Silva in 1995; and brother Rudi Sinapius in 1996.
