Francesco Paduano

Obituary of Francesco Antonio Paduano

It is with deep sadness that the family of Francesco (Frank) Paduano announce the passing of our truly beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather on Sunday, June 12, 2005. Francesco was born in Ripabottoni, Italy. He married his beloved Pasqualina shortly before World War II began. The war took him away for extensive periods of time. After the war ended, he began his search for a better life for his wife, two sons, and daughter. He chose Canada as the promising land of opportunity. Frank immigrated to Canada by himself at the beginning of 1952. His journey for steady work in Canada started in Montreal and northern Ontario. While hospitalized for an operation in Ontario, he learned of Calgary’s promise of endless job opportunities. Immediately after his recovery, he set off to Calgary to seek employment. He began to work for the City of Calgary, where he stayed until his retirement in 1982. Through his hard work, shear determination and endless love for his wife and family back in Italy, their dream of being together again was finally realized in February 1954, when his family joined him in Calgary. Ten months later, he was the proud father of his fourth child. Frank was truly a kind and gentle man, a devoted husband and father, one who always placed his family’s needs first and foremost throughout his lifetime. We were blessed and proud to have him as ‘our dad.’ We will never forget you Dad. Frank leaves a loving family to mourn his passing; Michael and Dianne, Domenico and Darlene, Maria and Wayne Miller, all of Calgary, and Capt. Enzo Paduano of Burlington, ON; ten grandchildren, Shawn of Cranbrook, BC, Jackie, Ryan (Raelyn), Diana (Darcy), Kathy (Kelly), Debbie, Kevin, and Dorian, all of Calgary, Michael and Stephanie of Burlington, ON; and five great-grandchildren, Zachary and Taryn Miller, and Nickolas Moskalyk, Tiffany and Madison, all of Calgary. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Wednesday, June 15, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (1307 – 14th Street S.W.) on Thursday, June 15, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev.
