Obituary of Sharon Lee Sine

Sharon Sine, beloved wife of Orest of Calgary, passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2005 at the age of 61 years. Sharon was born on February 5, 1944 in Trois Rivieres, QC to Marion and Hazen Veno. She grew up in Bakersettlement, N.S. but moved to Halifax at the age of eleven. Sharon graduated from Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Education and a Bachelor of Arts from Acadia University both in Nova Scotia. Sharon taught around the Halifax areas before moving to Calgary in 1971. She taught at SAIT for many years until her retirement. In recent years Sharon co-authored several editions of the Gregg reference manual which was published by McGraw-Hill, and is utilized by students and faculty members in Schools and Colleges all across Canada. Sharon’s gentle manner and quick wit will be remembered by all who knew her. Sharon is survived by her husband Orest Sine and her daughter Stephanie Sine, both of Calgary and also by her step-son Geoffrey Sine of Winnipeg, MB. She will also be missed by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins in Nova Scotia. She was predeceased by her parents Marion and Hazen Veno. A Celebration of Sharon’s life will be held at First Lutheran Church (Strathcona Blvd. and 14th Avenue S.W.) on Wednesday, June 15, 2005 at 1 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
