Obituary of Moe McDonald

Elmore Charles (Moe) McDonald of Calgary passed away on Friday, June 10, 2005 at the age of 74 years. Moe was born on March 21, 1931 in Calgary. He served with the Calgary Fire Department for many years and was Fire Chief with the Revelstoke Fire Department from 1965 to 1971. Moe was later employed in sales with various organizations. He was also a loyal member of the Free Masons and Shriners, serving for many years. Moe will be remembered for his kind heart, and always willing to lend a helping hand. Moe is survived by two sons, Glenn McDonald of Calgary, Dan McDonald and Brad Bowes of Calgary; Glenn’s mother Shirley Gilkes of Calgary. He is also survived by three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Ken and Pat McDonald of Calgary; Phil McDonald of Calgary; Dave and Nancy McDonald of Boulder, CO, as well as his most recent companion and caregiver, Marie Gazzard. He was predeceased by Dan’s mother Lorraine McDonald. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Thursday, June 16, 2005 at 12:00 Noon.
