Obituary of Raymond Garry Bortolin

Ray Bortolin passed away Friday, June 10, 2005 at the Carewest Sarcee Hospice at the age of 61 after a year-long battle with brain cancer. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Leah, Ryan, Kim and Jeff and his wife Celestine. Ray was dearly loved by his cousins, aunts and uncles, and the support they gave during his illness will not be forgotten. He was born in Calgary and grew up in Natal, BC under the loving eyes of his parents, Nellie and Gus. Ray spent thirty-seven years in the Catholic School system as a Teacher, Counsellor and friend to all who met him. His years coaching basketball, at school and in the community, were a highlight of his career. His charisma and sense of humour, on and off the court, were hard to miss. Ray’s passion for golf and baseball were shared by his many friends who will always have a place for him in their hearts. We will miss you Ray.
