Obituary of George Gablehaus
George “Geo” Gablehaus of Calgary, passed away at home at the age of 85 years after a fourteen month battle with cancer.
He was born in Saratov, Russia on September 28, 1919 and immigrated to Canada in 1924. He enjoyed sports, particularly water skiing and golf. When he wasn’t writing poetry or singing along with old records, he spent many hours inventing and building. He will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife, Madeline and three sons, Greg (Gail), Bob (Terry) and Doug. He will also be missed by his three grandchildren, Victoria, Geordon, Melissa; two sisters, Marie, Molly (Dale); three brothers, Henry (Evelyn), Walter (Doreen), Bill (Olga) and their families. He was predeceased by his sister Edith and his brother Robert.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Monday, June 6, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
