Obituary of Richard Ray Stephens
Richard Ray (Auth) Stephens has been called home to be with our Heavenly Father on May 23, 2005 at the age of 47 years.
Richard was born, raised and educated in Morley, AB. He had been employed by the Bearspaw Band Administration as a Carpenter before working as Security for the Band. Richard loved going hunting, doing ranch work, and cooking for his family and friends. He was a father who loved his kids; he was a son, a big brother, uncle, a nephew, and a friend to everyone he knew.
Richard will be deeply missed by his loving mother, Lucy; his beloved children; Joni, Tammi, Diondra, Arissa, Brittney, and Devin; his grandson Blaze; four sisters, Carol, Jackie (Randy), Didrienne, and Lorinda (Chuck); two brothers, Elvin and Elliotte (Sabrina); four aunties, Mary (Russell), Violet (Richard), Annie (Sam), and Madeline (George); one uncle Wally (Susan) Smalleyes; as well as special auntie Phyllis Ear. He is also survived by close cousins, Gilbert (Florence), Randy (Linda), Corrina (Stacey), Wyatt (Loretta), Martina (Woody), Charlene (Ferlin), Lorraine, Floyd (Georgina), Missy, Sophia, Janet, Natisha, Melrose (McFarland), Mary Louise (Wolfred) and Tater (Dixie) House; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and relatives of the Bearspaw, Fox, Lefthand, Dixon and House families. Richard was predeceased by his great-great-grandfather Moses Bear in 1965; great-great-grandmother, Mary Bear in 1950; Grandma Bella in 1984; and his brother Mervin in 1984; his father Don Rider in 1979; aunties, Alice Stephens in 1980; Christine Stephens in 1988, and Lena Lefthand; uncle Stanley Stephens and cousins Sammy Stephens in 1984, Jim Dixon and Gordon Dixon. The family would like to apologize to anyone they may have missed.
Wake Services will be held at the residence of Carol Baptiste (Morley, AB) on Thursday, May 26 2005, and Friday, May 27, 2005. Funeral Service will be held at the Morley School Gymnasium (Morley, AB) on Saturday, May 28, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Bearspaw Cemetery.
