Obituary of Eunice Mary Covey

Eunice Mary Covey of Calgary passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2005 at the age of 70 years. Eunice was born on March 5, 1935 in Montreal, QC and moved to Calgary at the age of eighteen years where she has resided and raised her family. She retired from a career with the Royal Bank of Canada. Eunice was a very active member of the community and church. She was involved in groups such as George Kirby I.O.D.E., CWL and Calgary Music Makers Senior Citizens’ Choir. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her ten grandchildren. In February 2002, she took the family to Cuba for an incredible vacation that will be remembered always. Eunice is best known for being the best Grammy ever, her capacity for love, and building lasting relationships. Eunice is survived by her children and their spouses, Kathy and Rick Wormsley, Lyle Covey, and Linda and Julio Torrez, all of Calgary, and Wayne and Olga Covey of Russia. She is also survived by her ten grandchildren, Becky, Patrick, Crystal, Larissa, Kimberley, Anthony, Nicholas, Alexander, Alena, and Nikolas; and her two sisters and brother-in-law, Audrey Robinson of Oshawa, ON and Arlene and Lorne Lawlor of Strathroy, ON. Eunice was predeceased by her sister Pat Shanahan.
