Obituary of Olive Quenten DubÚ
Olive Quinten DubÚ (nee Greig) of Calgary passed away on Friday, May 13, 2005 at the age of 83 years.
Olive was born on December 3, 1921 in Cambridge, New Zealand. She arrived in Canada on December 26, 1926, residing in British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Ontario and Alberta. She was a member of the Canadian Women’s Army Corps in Ottawa and Vancouver. In Ottawa Olive worked in the Adjutant Generals Office. One of her many duties was proof-reading the letters being sent to the next-of-kin. She was employed with Calgary Power (TransAlta Utilities) for over twenty years.
Olive bids farewell to her son and daughter-in-law, Quinton and Sharon DubÚ and children, Shane, Rhonda, Kristen and Gregory; her daughter and son-in-law, Lorraine and Andrew Grossberndt and children, Brendan and Vanessa; as well as many relatives in New Zealand, Alberta, British Columbia, and Ontario. Olive was predeceased by her husband J.C. “Cliff” DubÚ on September 18, 2000; her parents, Peter and Mary Greig; two brothers and sisters-in-law; six sisters and brothers-in-law; four nieces; and five nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.) on Thursday, May 19, 2005 at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Daniel Stevenot of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Drumheller, Presider. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
