Obituary of Roy MacDonald
Roy (Scotty) MacDonald, beloved husband of Jeanne, of Calgary, passed away on Friday, May 13, 2005 after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 80 years.
Roy was born to Ranald MacDonald and Mary (nee MacKay) on October 25, 1924 in Sydney, NS. He moved to Calgary on his retirement from the Canadian National Railway and CN Marine. Roy served overseas in the RCAF during WW II as an Air Gunner. He enjoyed music and played socially with the Prairie Mountain Fiddlers.
Besides his loving wife of fifty-four years, Roy is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and Lynne and Stephen and Denise; two daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Gordon McDonald and Dawn Marie and Timothy Dixon; eight grandchildren, Matthew, Eric, Mark, Bronwyn, Ian, Michael, Reid, and Olivia. He is also survived by a sister Marion of the USA; as well as several nieces and nephews from both Canada and the USA. Roy was predeceased by his son Clifford John who died at birth; and two sisters Agnes and Jessie.
