Obituary of Alyn William Archibald

Archie passed away peacefully at his home in Calgary on Monday, May 9, 2005 at the age of 63 years, after his heroic battle with lung cancer. Archie was originally from Durban, a small town in Manitoba. It was here that he began his involvement in all sports that were offered. He was a member and coach of many winning teams over the years and has left us all with many wonderful memories from the sports scene. Archie spent his life doing the things he loved every day. Most of his time was spent split between the rink, the golf course, and the ball field. Archie owned and operated a small courier service for over eighteen years which he developed through excellent customer service and his great interpersonal skills. His greatest joy and achievement in life are his two children, Alyson (Aly) and Casey. Although, for the past thirty years he has resided in Calgary, Archie was truly a small town boy at heart. He will be forever remembered for his loving attitude and for being the life of the party. Archie will be dearly remembered by his wife Sherry; his two children, Alyson (Aly) and Casey; and by his sister Delma of Winnipeg, MB and her family. He was predeceased by his parents Eric and Irene Archibald. As requested by Archie, a Celebration of his Life (party) will be held at Calgary Rugby Union (9025 Shepard Road S.E.
