Obituary of Bertus Neco Romyn

Bertus Neco (Bert) Romyn, beloved husband of Mrs. Nancy Romyn of Airdrie, AB, passed away peacefully at home with his family at his side on Tuesday, May 10, 2005 at the age of 68 years. Bert was raised in the Sundre area. He enjoyed dancing and was renowned for the Bearberry Shuffle, fishing, and wood working. He loved to be surrounded by his family. Bert loved travelling especially the trips to Hawaii, and family reunions. Besides his loving wife, Bert is survived by his four daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry and Wayne Cook of Red Deer, AB, Shelley and Patrick Romyn of Calgary, Jaqui and Grant Paulsen of Airdrie and, Jill and Michael Isaak of Calgary; a son and daughter-in-law Jeff and Jennifer Grochmal of Jacksonville, Florida; six grandchildren, Michelle (Kyle), Amanda, Patrick, Kate, Jade and Noah. He is also survived by his sister Riena (Allan) Frizzell of Red Deer. He was predeceased by first wife Joan on December 3, 1985.
