Obituary of Henriette Antionette Augusta Haga-Kempers
Henriette Antionette Augusta Haga of Calgary, known to her family and friends as “Honey”, gently went to be with her Lord on Friday, May 6, 2005 at the age of 81 years.
Honey was born in Lhokseumawe, Sumatra, Indonesia on May 2, 1924 and was raised in Indonesia and the Netherlands. As a young woman living in occupied Holland, she experienced the horrors of WW II and was instrumental in the safe relocation of several downed Canadian flyers. Honey also volunteered as a Red Cross Assistant through the war years. She was the original survivor and will be missed for her indomitable strength and tenacity.

Honey is survived by her children, Joris Kempers (Barb), Ellen Kempers, Monique Kempers-Soucy (Roger) and Mary-June Kempers; her grandchildren, Travis, Tanya (Mike), Scott (Tanya), Marni (Steve), Michael, Ryan (Tara), Jennifer (Mike) and Matthew; and her great-grandchildren Danielle, Joshua, Hunter, Ava, Sofia, Tyler and Chloe. She is also survived by one brother Anthony Haga (Terry) and nephews, Frank, Rick, and Lex.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Monday, May 9, 2005 at 3:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
