Obituary of Laura Elaine Pointer

Laura Pointer, beloved wife of Doug Pointer of Calgary, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at the age of 44 years. Laura was born in Winnipeg on March 27, 1961 to proud parents Marlene and Ronald Ross. She graduated from Murdoch MacKay High School in Transcona MB in 1979 and moved to Alberta in 1981. She married Douglas Pointer in 1985. For over twenty years Laura was a valued employee of Canada Revenue Agency, and while her career was highlighted with numerous Achievement and Recognition awards, her greatest contribution was her wonderful personality. Laura is survived by her husband Douglas; son Caleb; step-daughter Charlene; brother and sister-in-law Gordon and Pat Ross; nephews, Derek and David; also her parents Marlene Friesen, and Ronald Ross (Barbara), all of Calgary. She will also be remembered by her aunts, Allene Magnusson, Marilyn Toole (Gordon); cousins, Leanne and Pamela; as well as her in-laws, Freida and Ray Harrington, Eileen Pointer, Brian and Monique Cowie, and nieces, Carly and Grace, Linda and Paul Rich, Vern (Ace) Pointer, Gerald and Lana Pointer, Cheryl Byrne, David and Susanne Pointer; and by her Godmother Matilda Poranski of Winnipeg (at age 100). Laura was a joy to be with and will be forever missed by family and friends.
