Obituary of Richard Sanders

Richard Sanders passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2005 at the age of 69 years. Richard was born and raised in MontrÚal, QC and he moved to Calgary in 1969 where he became a character and fixture at the River Terrace Apartments along the Elbow River. He introduced the area to the plethora of geese and ducks through his constant supply of feed. He will be remembered for his quick wit, one-liners and his love of nature and music. He touched people in different ways and his memory will be forever cherished. Richard is survived by his ex-wife Georgina Alice Abrams-Nixon, his children Richard Oswald Sanders III, Kim Elizabeth Fraser (Sanders), David Frances Sanders, Wendy Ann Sanders, Andrea Carolyn Bober (Sanders), Kristina Jean Sanders; thirteen grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He will also be remembered by his sisters, Margaret Kress (Sanders), Beth Edwards (Sanders) and Andrea Lindsay (Sanders); as well as his stepmother Shirley Sanders. Richard is also survived by his friend and companion Patricia Pantherbone and their son Richard Lawrence Sanders.
