Obituary of Ruth Fowler
Mrs. E. Ruth Fowler of Calgary, (formerly of Acme) passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on Thursday, April 21, 2005 at the age of 87 years.
Ruth was born in Grouard, AB on October 6, 1917 and was raised in High Prairie, Alberta. She graduated from the University of Alberta in 1938. Bob and Ruth have been married for almost sixty-six years. Ruth was very active in the Community of Acme for many years and was a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Prairie Rose Rebekah Lodge and a chartered member of the Daughters of the Nile. She also was very active with the A.C.W. of St. John’s Anglican Church of Acme. She was a faithful member of the Anglican Church of Canada all her life. Upon moving to Calgary she spent several pleasurable years with the Confederation Park Seniors Choir.
Ruth leaves to mourn her loss, her loving husband, Robert (Bob) John Fowler of Calgary; her son Donald and daughter-in-law June of Red Deer, and daughter Gail and son-in-law Eugene Weremey of Calgary. She is also survived by six grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and thirteen great- grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at the Acme United Church in Acme, Alberta, on Friday, April 29, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Eric Haffenden, Presider. Graveside Service to follow at the Acme Cemetery. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
