Obituary of Phyllis Harriett Duhamel
Phyllis (Phyl) Harriett Duhamel passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Tuesday April 26, 2005 at the Beverly Centre in Calgary at the age of 92 years.
Phyl is now reunited with her sweetheart, Duke, who predeceased her in 1996 after fifty years of marriage.
Phyl always had a spirit of adventure and loved life. She and Duke carried on a long-distance romance while she spent her memorable war years in Washington D.C. and he served in the Navy in Halifax. In 1946, they were married in Edmonton. She was truly a people person and treasured her many friends. Over the years she enjoyed a variety of pursuits including painting, crafts, crocheting, knitting, playing cards, curling and travelling. Many special times were shared with family and friends at her favorite place, the cottage at Seba Beach. Phyl loved her family and remained connected until her last breath.
She is survived by her children, Suzanne (Kevin Mullen) and Doug (Ilona); and five grandchildren, Michael Stelck, Jennifer (Warren) Edinga, Juli Duhamel, Ken Duhamel and Katie Duhamel.
