Obituary of Frank Carolus Salverda
Frank Salverda of Calgary passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2005 at the age of 77 years.
Frank was born on December 28, 1927 in Valkenburg, Netherlands. He immigrated to Canada from the Netherlands, and lived in Montreal, QC Sardis, BC and Calgary. Being a Chef, he had the opportunity to oversee dinners for such Dignitaries as Queen Elizabeth II, Prime Minister Trudeau, and Henry Kissinger. Frank fought for the Dutch in World War II, and was a member of the Canadian Federation of Chefs.
Frank is remembered by his daughter Patricia Salverda and her daughter Holland of Toronto; three sons and daughters-in-law, Ron and Shirley Salverda and their children, Sydney and Nicholas, Ray and Sarah Salverda and their children, Katie and Thomas, and Frank and Cheryl Salverda and their children, Brianna, Braeden and Bryce; and his children’s mother Tonie Salverda, all of Calgary.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Wednesday, April 27, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
