Dana McKay

Obituary of Dana Storm McKay

Life is a really, really, really big mountain “Dude” has biked, climbed and boarded them all. This last mountain was the biggest and most challenging. He leaves to relish his passion for life his Dad and Mom, Tim and Liz, sister Lindsay, and brother Garrett; grandparents Judy McKay, Bob and Elaine Ferguson; as well as aunts, uncles and cousins. Dana was born on December 17, 1989 in Calgary. He attended Silver Springs Elementary School until grade five and Delta West Academy. His sense of humour and true spirit came out the most when he was snowboarding, skateboarding, dirt biking at the ranch, going to movies, having pizza and wings, downhill biking at COP, ripping around the ridge on his bike, playing kick-the-can, wake boarding and tubing in BC and the list goes on and on. Dana’s sense of adventure led us to family holidays, which included everything from camping in Kananaskis to looking for monkeys in Costa Rica. Dana’s Grandpa, Winnie (best cat ever), and Chimo will show him where the other guys are boarding and biking. Dana lived his life at full throttle and what could be better. Pura Vida Dana, Pura Vida. Special thanks to Dr. Strother and the Oncology team at ACH, the Make a Wish Foundation, Tina West and Peter Farren of the Palliative Team, love and gratitude to Donna Jenkins and family, Chris Migliarini and family, Kent and Kim Jenkins, all our family and friends, and staff and families of Delta West Academy for the tremendous support. May we all live our lives as “Strong as Storm”.
