Obituary of Robert Keith Merritt

Robert (Bob) Keith Merritt of Calgary passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2005 at the age of 74 years. Bob was born on December 24, 1930 in Williamsburg, NB. After he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of New Brunswick, his career brought him west to Calgary. Later, working as an Exploration Geophysicist for Shell, PetroBras, Amoco Int., Panarctic Oil, and as a Consultant took Bob to almost all of the continents in the world. Besides his passion for working and geophysics, he enjoyed the fruits of life. He was an honest golfer, an avid skier, and connoisseur of fine food, drink, and cigars. His intelligence, wit, and company will be missed by fellow colleagues, friends, and family. Bob is survived by his six children, Monica Yardley of Toronto, ON, Mary Ellen Grigor of Lanark, Deborah Noble of Calgary, Donald Merritt of Edmonton, Ian Merritt of Kimberley, BC and Nancy Merritt-White of Calgary. He is also survived by his sister Clara Pringle of Bridgewater, NB; and eight grandchildren. Bob was predeceased by his parents Claire and Mary; and his daughter Karen.
