I came across a link to Ron Hooper's obituary by accident. He was my boss, i.e. director of the City of Winnipeg Public Welfare Dep't, from 1970-71. I remember him as a no-nonsense yet kindly man who provided sound advice when needed or requested and was very patient with those of us in the lower echelons. He was an example of professionalism at its best. Belated condolences to family and friends.
