Obituary of Grizel Robert Campbell
It is with the deepest sorrow that the family of Grizel Robert Campbell (nee Lynch) announce her passing, peacefully on Sunday, April 17, 2005 at the age of 85 years.
Born Grizel Robert Lynch in Fifeshire, Scotland on December 27, 1919 she grew up in the Vancouver Heights/Capitol Hill area where her family returned when she was two years old. She married George on March 29, 1946 and they raised their family in Burnaby, BC, Oakville, ON, Beaconsfield, ON, and Sarnia, ON before retiring to Qualicum Beach in 1980. Grizel was joyful, kind and selfless, caring for others while asking little for herself. We will carry in our hearts her engaging sense of humour, she could tell a joke all wrong and it still came out right. An evening Scotch with George was a tradition.
She is lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, James, Kyle, Emily, Robert, Eric, Andrew, and Kirsten; her daughters-in-law, Ann, Sharon, Kathryn and Ines; and sons, Colin, Roy and Harvie; as well as many friends and caregivers. Grizel was predeceased by her beloved husband George in 1997, her dear son Robert in 1982, and her sister Jenny in 1929, who remained close to her heart through all the years.
