Obituary of Jane Goodman
Jane Goodman of Calgary, beloved wife of Keith and mother of Douglas passed away in her sleep on Monday, April 11, 2005 at the age of 82 years.
Jane was born in Barnstaple in southwest Devon, England. In her teens, she joined an older sister who ran a bookstore, a move she never regretted and one that brought new meaning to her life. She joined the RAF as a driver early in the War and it was there that she met her future husband, an R.C.A.F. Navigator. They were married in 1945 and welcomed a baby boy a year later. A dedicated and enthusiastic housewife, she enjoyed cooking, furniture selection and room decorating. Bridge and golf were her two favourite pastimes in both of which she overshadowed her husband. Jane was a volunteer at the Foothills General Hospital Ladies Auxiliary for twenty-five years and was a Ladies Past President at Canyon Meadows Golf and Country Club, where she was a member for thirty-five years.
She will be dearly missed by her husband Keith; as well as her son and daughter-in-law Douglas and Jo-Anne.
