Obituary of Gaetano Conti

Gaetano Conti, beloved husband of Tanina of Calgary, passed away on Monday, April 4, 2005 at the age of 78 years. Gaetano Conti was born on September 29, 1926 in Castiglione, Sicily, Italy. Gaetano first came to Calgary in 1954, returning to Italy where he married his wife Tanina on July 26, 1969. They then returned to Calgary, on September 6, 1969 where he worked for Standard General Construction Company until his retirement in 1991. He enjoyed his retirement working in his garden and being with his family. In 2001 due to ill health Gaetano moved to live at the Bethany Care Centre. Besides his loving wife Tanina, Gaetano is survived by one daughter, Enza Conti; one sister Antonina Mercia; one brother Giuseppi and sister-in-law Vincenzina Conti, all of Calgary, AB; as well as several nieces and nephews in Canada and Italy. He was predeceased by his parents Vincenza and Giovanni Conti; and two brothers and one sister in Italy. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Wednesday, April 6, 2005 at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church(400 Edmonton Trail N.E), on Thursday, April 7, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
