Obituary of Pauline Gaiptman

Pauline (Pat) Gaiptman of Calgary passed away on Friday, March 25, 2005 at the age of 79 years. She spent the majority of her life in Montreal before moving to Toronto and then Calgary. Pat was the devoted wife of the late Sidney Gaiptman; the loving mother and mother-in-law of Barbara Gaiptman and Joel Baker of Toronto, Ellen and Bill Chidley of Calgary and John and Sharoyne Gaiptman of Victoria; the cherished grandmother of Daniel and Jodi Baker, Katie and Jennie Chidley and Elisha and Jessica Gaiptman. Pat will be sadly missed by her extended family and all who knew her. Pat’s greatest happiness was her family. She was also passionate about education as exemplified by her decision to enrol in university, culminating in her graduation from McGill University with a Bachelor of Social Work in 1975. She was valued by her clients and professional colleagues for her wisdom and her commitment to the cause of the disadvantaged. Her family have many wonderful memories of sharing her love of the arts, music and literature with her. She will be forever remembered by her children and grandchildren for the time they spent together. A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, March 28, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Jewish Cemetery (30th Avenue & Erlton Street S.W., Calgary, AB). Shiva will also be held in Toronto commencing Tuesday evening, March 29, 2005. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Alzheimer Society.
