Obituary of Roberto Rosal Grey

Roberto Rosal Grey, beloved husband of Susana Grey of Calgary, passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2005 at the age of 89 years. Roberto obtained his Geology degree in the Philippines and pursued advanced studies in Micro-Paleontology at the University of California in Berkley. He taught Geology at MAPUA and Adamson University in Manila. He immigrated to Canada in 1968 and worked as a Paleontologist at Pan Canadian and Shell Canada. He enjoyed his close association with many Filipino seniors in Calgary. One of his great passions in life was playing the piano (jazz music). This provided great enjoyment to him and pleasure to others. Besides his loving wife Susana, Roberto is survived by his children and their spouses, Luz and Ruben Verzosa, Gerry and Evelyn, Bobby and Pearlie, and Gina; stepchildren, Linda and Roger, Sonia, Susan and Ernie, Sorayda and Lorne, and Jun and Mayer; ten grandchildren, Sophia, Aurora, Isabel, Raul, Cristina, Tricia, Gabriel, Ron, Brandon, and Rachel; ten great-grandchildren, Theo, Stasha, Mira, Emma, Sera, Ana, Rosa, Joanna, Madelene, and Sydney; and eight step-grandchildren, Genalyn, Angela, Roger P., Kevin, Kristen, Kassie, Marc, and Antonio. He is also survived by a brother Joe Grey of California; and two sisters, Corazon of California and Pacita of Burnaby, BC; and numerous nieces and nephews. Roberto was predeceased by his first wife Maxima in 1986. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Sunday, March 27, 2005 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Monday, March 28, 2005 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church (321 – 90th Avenue S.E.) on Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Bruce Schute SAC, Presider. Graveside Service to follow in “St. Joseph’s Section” at Queen’s Park Cemetery. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
