Obituary of John Bruce Pettinger
John (Jack) Bruce Pettinger of Calgary passed away peacefully at the Mayfair Care Centre on Thursday, March 17, 2005 at the age of 88 years.
Jack was born on August 9, 1916 in the town of Oyen, AB. He graduated from the Technical School (SAIT) in Calgary and worked for Halliburton Services Limited from 1937 to his retirement in 1978, a proud forty-year career in the “Oil Patch”. After retiring in 1978, Jack and his wife Edith enjoyed many years at the Beachcomber Marina on Vancouver Island, BC.
Jack is remembered by his two sons and their wives; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and by his surviving brothers and sister. He was predeceased by his wife Edith in 1982.
A Celebration of Jack’s life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at 2:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
