Obituary of William Arthur Branch

It is with a deep sense of sorrow that we announce the passing of William Arthur (Twig) Branch on Thursday, March 17, 2005 at the age of 87 years. Art was born in Toronto on July 21, 1917. He graduated in Dentistry at the University of Toronto in 1944 and headed west. He used to joke that he arrived in Calgary, realized there was no humidity and never looked back. He served in the Canadian Dental Corps in World War II, attaining the rank of Captain. Shortly after the war ended, Art visited England, where he met Anne Brown. The dashing young Canadian swept the young lass off her feet and brought her back to Canada as his bride. For the next four decades, he practised Dentistry in various locations across Western Canada, making friends wherever he went. Art possessed a love for life, for family and all those who know him will miss his sense of humour and compassion. Art is survived by his sons, David of Calgary and Julian (MaryAnn) of Regina, SK; his brother Robert of Ajax, ON; and his grandchildren, Bennett, and Kaitlyn. Art was predeceased by his brother Paul; and his sister Isabelle. A Private Family Service will be held at a later date. Flowers gratefully declined.
