Obituary of Eletha Jane Roberts

Eletha Jane Roberts (nee Riley) of Calgary, passed away after a brief battle with cancer on Friday, March 11, 2005 at the age of 82 years. Born on the 25th of September 1922 to Victor and Cosey Riley in Erin, SK, Eletha was the eldest of five children. She grew up in Central Alberta, graduating from High School at Forestburg. She graduated from the Royal Alexandra Hospital School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse in 1946. She married Evan Roberts in Victoria, BC and between the years of 1948 and 1960, they had six children: Patricia Hart (Ted) of Banff, AB, Brian (Cathy) of Calgary, Garth (Karen) of White Rock, BC, Roger of London, England, Diane of Victoria, BC, and Susan of Calgary. She is survived by her husband Evan, her six children, five grandchildren, as well as her sister Willene (Bert) Becker and her brother Doug (Sandy) Riley. Eletha was predeceased by her father Victor and her mother Cosey, by her brothers Bill and Jim, and by her granddaughter Lindsay. Eletha was a loving and generous woman. Her home was always open to her family and many friends from all over the world. She loved bridge, curling and hiking and was a member of the 5th Dimension Hiking Club for fourteen years. Above all, she loved her family, all of whom will miss her greatly. Funeral Services will be held at Woodgreen Presbyterian Church (Corner of Canyon Meadows Drive and Elbow Drive Southwest) on Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev.
