Obituary of Luigi Esposito
Luigi Esposito of Calgary passed away peacefully at the Foothills Medical Centre on Thursday, March 10, 2005 at the age of 80 years.
Luigi was born on November 1, 1924 in San Giacomo Cerzeto, Cosenza, Italy. He married his wife of thirty-nine years in 1943. Luigi immigrated to Canada in 1961, and a few years later sent for his wife and children. Well known to all as Grandpa he was fondly remembered for his love of the outdoors, gardening and making wine.
Luigi is survived by his family, Enrichetta Iuliano; Pasqualina and Guido Tirri; grandchildren Tina and Gary Gaspari, Michelle and Rob Costa, Alberto Tirri and Michelle Langlois and Luigi Iuliano; as well as three great-grandchildren, Joseph, Nina and Alexandra Gaspari. He is also survived by three brothers and a sister-in-law, Frank and Pina Esposito and family of Palermo, Ralph and Adelina Esposito and family, Paul and Maria Esposito and family of Rome, and Maria Pollera and family of San Giacomo. He was predeceased by his wife Clotilde in 1982, his parents and a brother.
Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Monday, March 14, 2005 at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Grace Italian and English Catholic Church (1714 – 14th Avenue N.E.) on Tuesday, March 15, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. with the Very Rev. Bryan Frank V.F., Presider. Graveside Service to follow at Queens Park Mausoleum. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the charity of the donor’s choice.
