Obituary of Roy Alexander Forbes

Roy Forbes, beloved husband of Virginia of Calgary, passed away on Friday, March 11, 2005 at the age of 78 years. Roy was born on May 30, 1926 in Montreal, QC, and lived there until 1967. He spent most of his working life with Texaco Canada and on its departure from Quebec he accepted a transfer to Calgary as Manager of Supply and Transportation. Roy held a term as President of the Calgary Transportation Club and made many friends in the Oil and Transportation Industry. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hockey, and had been involved with the Barbershoppers and various Choral Groups. Roy also had many good times with his bridge buddies and the WSIM guys. Roy will be missed by his wife Ginny; and their children and spouses, Donna and Rick, Ross and Mae, Susan and Paul, Andrew and Sandra, and Ginger; six grandchildren, Raina, Jay, Andra (Vu), Drew, Erin, and Heather; and two great-grandchildren, Kieran and Karma. He will also be missed by his sisters, Marjorie and Eleanor; and many nieces and nephews.
