Obituary of Ruth Marie Jacqueline Scott

Ruth Marie Jacqueline Scott (nee Boers), beloved wife of James Donald Scott of Calgary, passed away peacefully at the Carewest Sarcee Hospice after a battle with cancer on Tuesday, March 8, 2005 at the age of 73 years. Ruth was born on July 28, 1931 in Regina, SK. She attended Balfour Technical College in Regina and lived in many different places throughout her lifetime moving to Edmonton in 1960, to Victoria, BC in 1968, to Dartmouth, NS in 1969 and finally, to Calgary in 1977. Ruth married her husband James on June 30, 1954. Throughout her working years, Ruth was employed as a Secretary for Saskatchewan Power, Shell Canada, Canadian Superior, and the Nova Scotia Housing Commission. She was also a supporter of the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Diabetes, the Canadian Cancer Society, and Sunshine Acres in the United States. Ruth enjoyed crossword puzzles, music and garage sales and her greatest achievement was her children and grandchildren. Besides her loving husband James Donald Scott, Ruth is survived by her four sons and two daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Pauline Scott; David Scott; Gordon and Susan Scott, and Jeffery Scott; as well as her two grandchildren, James and Shelby, all of Calgary. She is also survived by her sisters Hilda Wilhelm of Lampman, SK and Katherine Mack of Calgary; as well as her brother Alvin Boers of Regina, SK; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ruth was predeceased by her parents Jakob and Adoline Boers, and her sisters Hertha Herman and Erna Lausch. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Saturday, March 12, 2005 at 2:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
