Obituary of Robert Gerald Jankiewicz

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of our husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Robert Gerald (Jerry) Jankiewicz passed away on March 8, 2005, after a bravely fought battle with cancer, at the age of 61 years. Jerry’s work as a Civil Engineer in the Oil Industry brought his family to Cochrane, AB from Winnipeg, MB in 1980. He enjoyed his work almost as much as his family, whom he always made time for whether it was coaching baseball, taking family holidays, or a night out with Diane. Those who knew Jerry best saw through the ‘Archie Bunker’ fa_ade to the kind and caring man that he was. At no time was his gentle nature more apparent than when he was with his grandkids. Jerry was a pillar of strength to us all in life and even through his battle, he taught us all what strength and courage were about, never complaining of pain or fear, only encouraging us all to be strong. We will never forget all that he gave us. Till we meet again… Besides his loving wife of thirty-three years, Diane, Jerry will be extremely missed but never forgotten by his two daughters and sons-in-law, Jennifer and Scott and Lisa and Eric; and by his three grandchildren, Alexa, Joseph and Crystal. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.) on Friday, March 11, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church (43015 George Fox Trail & Highway 22, Cochrane, AB) on Saturday, March 12, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. with the Pastor Norm Miller officiating.
