Willis, Robert Ernest, A.O.C.A. – (“Bob” to his relations, friends and creditors) went to his reward on Wednesday, March 2, 2005, in his 73rd year. Bob is survived by his wife Jean – (she who must be obeyed) – son Rob (Angela and granddaughter Jamie) – sister Joan Martin (Robert) – and cousins Linda and Barry Willis in Toronto. Born on September 30th, 1932 in Edmonton, an Honours Grad of the Ontario College of Art, University of Toronto ’55, he joined Calgary’s first motion picture company in 1955, and worked continuously on sponsored corporate films and TV commercials, including a stint as a Cartoon Director in London, England. From 1994 to 2000, he was also in the Travel Film Lecture field, showing his eighty-minute 16mm colour travelogues (Best of the Canadian West, Wales, in Spirit & Song, and Ukraine) across Canada and the USA. Over the years, his companies received numerous awards; his 16/35mm film library dated to 1947, and was donated to the Glenbow Archives. Bob (I’m outta here!) requested no Funeral or Memorial Services to be held. A Celebration of Bob’s Life is planned. Family and friends will be notified.
