Obituary of Evelyn Eunice Adamson
Evelyn Eunice Adamson passed away on Thursday, February 24, 2005 at the Bethany Care Centre, Cochrane, AB, after a lengthy illness. She was the beloved wife of Douglas Adamson, Cochrane, and will be dearly missed by her children, Larry (Chris) Adamson, Randal Adamson, and Heather (Richard) Bryant. She also leaves her grandchildren, Maria Bayle, Meghan Bryant, Adam Bryant and Natalie Adamson. She was predeceased by her daughter, Sandra Dawn Foster, in 1981.
Evelyn was born in Empress, AB on June 26, 1929. She was the only child of George Wesley (Wes) Hurlburt and Eunice (Crozier) Hurlburt. The family farmed in Empress and Alcomdale before coming to Calgary, where Evelyn graduated from Western Canada High School. She married Doug in 1947, and was his partner and best friend throughout their fifty-seven years of marriage. Over the years, they operated a grocery store, worked in real estate together, and took their family on many camping adventures. In the past twenty-five years, they lived on acreages in Rimbey, Creston and Cochrane, where Evelyn looked after many beloved and exotic farm animals.
Funeral Services will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church (290 Edgepark Blvd. N.W.) on Monday, February 28, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Ian A. Gray, officiating. The family extends their sincere thanks to the compassionate staff at the Bethany Care Centre, Cochrane for their exceptional care of Evelyn in the last stages of her illness.
