Obituary of William Smiley

William (Bill) Smiley, beloved husband of Eileen Smiley of Calgary, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 25, 2005 at the age of 80 years. Bill was born on May 7, 1924 in Calgary. He was a Plumber, retired from Canada Packers, he also served in the Royal Canadian Navy during World War II. He was a handyman, a whiz at building and fixing things. Bowling, hiking and skiing were his favourite pastimes. Bill was an avid fan of the Calgary Stampeders and the Calgary Flames. Most of all, he was a man who loved his family very much. Bill is survived by his loving family, his wife Eileen; son Don; daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and Derek Pyne, and Darlynn and Jim Courage; granddaughter Janice; and his grandsons, Graham, Kevin and Alex. He was predeceased by his sister Nell and his brother Mike. Prayers will be held at St. Bernadette’s Catholic Church (7103 – 20A Street S.E.) on Monday, February 28, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Bernadette’s Catholic Church (7103 – 20A Street S.E.) on Tuesday, March 1, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev.
