Three Suns

Obituary of Three Suns

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Henry Three Suns (Bee nik Kah see), who went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 19, 2005. Henry considered his wealth not in possessions, but in the happiness of his family. Through his kind, gentle and understanding ways, he encouraged us with his knowledge and wisdom. Many looked up to him as a father. He empowered his family, friends, Hand Game and Pow-Wow community by his example of his generosity and love for people. Henry was very compassionate and supported his family in every possible way. His greatest passion was his drumming and singing. This was evident in how much he loved making beautiful drums. Henry was the founding member of the Little Axe Drummers. As a Coach and Mentor, he helped them to become a well-known drum group. He was proud that Little Axe made the top ten drum groups to perform at the Connecticut Schemitzun Pow-Wow. Henry was the stronghold of his family, also to his colleagues, friends and most of all to his loving wife, Priscilla. He leaves a legacy of an honoured Leader, Teacher, Mentor and most of all his love. Importantly, Henry encouraged everyone to pray and uphold family/traditional values and beliefs. Henry leaves behind his loving wife, soul-mate and best friend, Priscilla; his children, Garth (Karen), Leanne (Harley), and Delford (Nicole); father Pius; aunts, Julia and Emily (Clarence); his brothers, Frank, Stanford (Karen), Michael (Mildred), Alvin, Stanley (April), and Dean; his sisters, Emma (Harold) Joyce, and Albertine (Kendall); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind many grandchildren and adopted children. Henry was predeceased by his mother Margaret; brothers, Donnie and Kenneth Rabbit Carrier; grandmothers, Mary Three Suns and Margaret Bad Boy; uncles, Mike and Max Three Suns; Russell Wright Sr., and George (Corn) Good Eagle; and nephew Sheldon Cutter. The family apologizes if we have missed anyone and we appreciate the overwhelming support in prayers, food and assistance.
