Obituary of Marie Arsenault

Marie (Mimi) Arsenault beloved wife of Eric Arsenault of Calgary passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 20, 2005 at the age of 69 years. Marie was born on June 10, 1935 in St. John, NB. She grew up in Ste. Marie de Kent, attending schools in New Brunswick, graduating from Nursing School in Cambellton, NB in 1957. Marie moved to Toronto, ON in 1958 and later that year married Eric Arsenault. They resided in Toronto for twenty years, then Peterborough, ON for seven years prior to moving to Calgary in 1981. Marie was a Licensed Practical Nurse for forty-three years at hospitals in New Brunswick, Ontario, and at the Foothills Hospital N.U. 72 where she retired from in 2000. She enjoyed spending winters in Arizona with their many special friends and where she developed a passion for collecting gems and stones. Her many activities such as sewing, knitting, flower gardening, and reading gave her great pleasure and left us with many cherished memories. Marie’s only granddaughter Lindsay was her pride and joy and she treasured every moment they spent together. Besides her loving husband, Marie is also survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Steve Gourlie of Cochrane; her granddaughter Lindsay Gourlie; and by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her adoptive mother Bella Dallaire; sister Lina Caissie; brother Fred Dallaire and half-brother Yvon Girouard, all of New Brunswick. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.) on Thursday, February 24, 2005 at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. John Groot officiating.
