Obituary of James McPhedran

James (Jim) McPhedran of Calgary passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 15, 2005 at the age of 84 years, following a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s disease. Jim was born in Calgary and lived most of his life in the Ogden area. Following his service in the Canadian Army overseas during WWII, he worked as a machinist at the Ogden CPR Shops for forty years, retiring in 1980. Jim was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion #154 for fifty-two years and also a member of the Ogden House 50+ Club. Jim is survived by his loving wife Milly; his son and daughter-in-law Allan and Vicki McPhedran; and his daughter and son-in-law Arlie and Jim Mahood. Poppa will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Patrick, Jennifer, Mitchell and Brittany. Jim is also survived by his two brothers and sisters-in-law, Stan and Trudy, and Glen and Heather, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. A Memorial Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Wednesday, February 23, 2005 at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Jonathan R. Gibson officiating.
