Obituary of Evenis Rudolph

Evenis Rudolph of Calgary passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 13, 2005 at the age of 93 years. Evenis was born at Wimslow, England on February 17, 1911 and immigrated with his family to Canada in 1919, settling in Dalemead, AB. He married Mae Stewart in 1933 and together they farmed and raised their family. Bob became a member of the Canadian Seed Growers Association in 1934 and was established as a Foundation Grower in 1959. In 1964, he was awarded the Canadian Seed Growers Association’s highest honour and was elected a Robertson Associate Membership for services to the Association and Canadian Agriculture. He also operated his own seed cleaning facility. Bob was President of the Bow North Rural Electrification Association for sixteen years and a Delegate for Alberta Wheat Pool for four years. Bob will be dearly missed by his daughters and son-in-laws, Gwen and Bill Ellis, Beverley and Doug Bateman and Rheta and Sheldon Borgal; his grandchildren, Rob (Stephanie) Ellis, Andrea (Steve) Snith, Kendra (Lorenz) Berner, Kori Degethoff, and Sue Ellis (Curt Thompson); eight great-grandchildren; and two nieces and three nephews. Bob was predeceased by his loving wife Mae in 1989; and his sisters Winnie Cleveland and Nancy Carter. Funeral Services will be held in the Chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home (17 Avenue at Garden Road S.E.) on Thursday, February 17, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
