Obituary of William Fidyk

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of William (Bill) Fidyk, beloved husband of Millie of Calgary on Wednesday, February 9, 2005 at the age of 73 years. Bill was born to pioneer parents Nick and Polly Fidyk of Beatty, SK. As a youngster, he loved all of the sports, but his favorite was curling. Bill was also a member of the Beatty 4-H Club. In 1958, he married Millie Rehaume from Pleasantdale, SK. In 1960, they moved to Calgary where Bill worked for the Royalite Oil Company. Later, he became an Electrician for Western Electric. He ended his career working for the Calgary School Board. Bill was devoted to his family and they spent many weekends together camping and holidaying at the family farm. He will be fondly remembered for his kind and generous heart. Bill was a hard worker and always lent a helping hand to his family and friends when in need. Besides his loving wife Millie, he is survived by his cherished family, son Kim (Barbara), daughter Mia Curley and grandson Benjamin Curley. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Anne and Frank Hoar of Melfort, SK; his brother and sister-in-law Steve and Ruth Fidyk of Beatty, SK; his sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Art Barrs of Evansburg, AB; as well as his nieces and nephews.
