Obituary of Florence Merribeth Corbett

Florence Merribeth “Betty” Corbett of Calgary passed away suddenly and peacefully on Monday, February 7, 2005 at the age of 84 years. Betty loved her bridge and scrabble and will long be remembered for her amazing piano playing, decorating and her gardening talents. Betty was always positive and kind to everyone. Betty will be sorely missed by her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Marilyn Corbett; two daughters and sons-in-law, Leslie and Dennis Stringer, and Connie and Ed Johnson; and her sister Bobby Rooney in Yellow Grass, SK. Betty is the loving grandmother of Bart (Amy), Kelly (Brad), Joe (Amanda), Kim, Carly, and Ben; and great-grandmother to Jordon, Ben, Connor, and Jonathan. Betty will also be missed by numerous dear friends including many new friends that she made at Garrison Manor. Betty was predeceased by her husband Al who passed away March 4, 1994. A Memorial and Celebration of Betty’s life will be held on Wednesday, February 16, 2005 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Earl Grey Golf Course, 6540 20 St. S.W (249-5548).
