Obituary of John F. MacMaster

John MacMaster, beloved husband of Wilma G. (nee Henderson) MacMaster of Calgary, passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2005 at the age of 82 years. John was born on June 30, 1922 to John Bradshaw and Eileen Mary MacMaster in Wallasey, England. John and Wilma were married on December 18, 1948 in St. John’s Presbyterian Church of England, South Shields. John and Wilma came to Canada in April 1951 where he worked for the C.N.R. from 1951 – 1952 in New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. From 1952 – 1954 he was employed by Canadian Brazilian Services, from 1954 – 1961 for Power-Tronic Eng. Ltd., and from 1961 – 1966 for Trans Canada Pipe. John and Wilma moved to Calgary in 1966 where he worked for Bates and Associates as Vice-President from 1966 – 1971. In June of 1971, John and Wilma formed MacMaster Engineering Ltd. John and Wilma lived in Calgary until their move to an acreage in the Red Deer Lake area in 1978. John was a member of APEGGA, Canadian Society of Forensic Science, International Association of Arson Investigators, Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and St. Andrews Society of Toronto. John received an award of Merit from IEEE in 1988. John is survived by his wife Wilma; and brother Philip Thomas MacMaster in Flintshire, England.
