Obituary of Pearl Valentine Payne
Pearl Valentine Payne (nee Murray) beloved wife of Mr. Bernard Payne of Calgary, passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2005 at the age of 79 years.
Pearl was born on February 14, 1925 in Drumheller, AB. She received her education at the one room schoolhouse Craighton School, Drumheller High School and Calgary Business College. Pearl worked as Secretary for an Accounting Firm in Drumheller and was the Private Secretary for Calgary Transit System. Pearl married Bernard Payne on June 9, 1951. She was a member of the Kinette Club, the First Canadian Collector Club and the Southwest Seniors Club and enjoyed many winters in Arizona.
Besides her beloved husband Bernard, Pearl is survived by her three sons and one daughter and their spouses, Dorothy MacKay-Holmberg and Brian Holmberg of Cochrane, AB, Doug Payne , Don and Janet Payne, and Dave and Melissa Payne, all of Calgary. She is also survived by her three grandsons ,MacKenzie, Daniel and Cade; and her great-granddaughter Chantelle MacKay; as well as her sisters Kay Whipple, Mona Tyler and Mavis McKay.
Funeral Services will be held at St. Andrew’s United Church (924 Heritage Drive S.W.) on Thursday, February 3, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Rod Sykes officiating. Graveside Service to follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
