Obituary of Rosie DeFerro

Rosie (Tecla) DeFerro of Calgary passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 29, 2005 at the age of 96 years. Rosie was born in Antrodoco, Italy on September 5, 1908 and immigrated to Calgary in 1909 with her parents, Vincenzo and Genoveffa Grassi. She married Antonio DeFerro in 1934 and moved to Nelson, BC. She was predeceased by her husband Tony in 1975; son Charlie; grandson Bradley and daughter-in-law Beverly; brother Mario Grassi; and sisters Lea Ferrari, Helen Key and Mary Tedeschini. Rosie will be remembered for her strength of character, courage and love of family. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Grace Italian and English Catholic Church (1714 – 14th Avenue N.E.) on Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
