Obituary of Venancio Santos Manaloto

Venancio Santos Manaloto, beloved husband of sixty-three years to Lucy of Calgary, joined his creator on Sunday, January 23, 2005 at the age of 88 years. Ben was given the gift of life on April 1, 1916 in Santo Rosario, Pampanga, Philippines. He met his lovely bride in Manila while working in his profession as a tailor. In December of 1976, Ben immigrated to Canada to be closer to his family. Besides his loving wife, Lucy, Ben is survived by his children and their spouses, Jaime (Phoebe) Manaloto and Ricky (Elma) Manaloto of the Philippines, Lolita (Rey) Reyes of Edmonton, Josie (Danny) Fajardo, Roy (Helen) Manaloto, Dave (Elvie) Manaloto, Shirley (El) Manabat, Ofelia (Guy) Magat, and Julius (Susie) Manaloto, our adopted family Mel, Noemi and Migs all of Calgary; thirty grandchildren, Menchie, Dennis, Louie, James, Michelle, Techie, Paulo, Jaymee, Nikki, Tracy, Bobby, Toni, Dave, Avee, Bingle, Mark, Charles, Charlotte, Vida, Davidson, Theresa, Ryan, Sheldon, Sheena, Genesis, Gerswin, Justine, Rosanna, Venessa, and Julia; fourteen great-grandchildren, Lancelot, Joshua, Christian, Vencer, Jasper, Margie, Baby James, Vida II, Rayna, Evan, Cole, Jazmine, Aya, and Sidney; and a brother Aurelio Manaloto of the Philippines. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Eastside Memorial Chapel (5388 Memorial Drive N.E.) on Sunday, January 30, 2005 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and on Monday, January 31, 2005 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Thomas More Catholic Church (15 Templebow Road N.E.) on Tuesday, February 1, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.
